Hi! I’m Katherine.

I’m originally from North Carolina but now reside in Northwest Arkansas, where I recreate, work, and explore nature. Currently, I hold the position of Assistant Director of UREC Outdoors at the University of Arkansas. I work with college students to expose them to the outdoors and take them to some incredible places like: the Grand Canyon, Big Bend, or the Boundary Waters.

During my free time, I assist individuals, like yourself, in acquiring wilderness medicine skills and discovering their preferred outdoor destinations. Being an enthusiastic outdoorswoman, I make the most of every opportunity to be out paddling, climbing, hiking, or riding my gravel bike.

Here’s some of my current certifications:

  • WMTC Wilderness Medicine Instructor

  • Wilderness EMT

  • Leave No Trace Level 2 Instructor - previously LNT Master Educator

  • ACA L4 Swiftwater Rescue

  • PCIA Climbing Wall Instructor - Lead

My Education:

  • M.Ed. Recreation and Sport Management, University of Arkansas

  • B.S. Crop and Soil Science, NC State University
